Particle Technology and Product Design

Section

The section addresses disperse systems in nature and technology. It focuses on methods for the production, processing, formulation and characterization of multiphase products, whose structure is often complex, with a highly specific, characteristic profile tailored to the individual application. The product properties define the application area, from classical fields of process engineering in the chemical industry increasingly diverging into the fields of electronics, energy technology, life sciences, nanotechnology, optical technologies, materials and environmental technology.

The section addresses the following areas:
  • Identification of white spots in its field of activity
  • Identification of new, higher-ranking subject areas
  • Initiation of research programmes
  • Training, continuing education, and the exchange of ideas and experience beyond the confines of the Section
  • Professional development of young scientists in academia and industry
  • Promotion of the image of particle technology and product design
  • Cooperation with other communities and associations on a national and an international level
The following pages present short profiles and the fields of interest of the section's various bodies.
