Risk Management

Working Party

The Working Party views its task as a contribution to comprehensive technical risk management in terms of plant safety. In this connection, it takes into account risks to persons, the environment and production facilities based on the hazard potential in substances and processes.
The German process engineering industry has adopted a variety of different types of qualitative risk assessment. Reservations towards quantitative processes still exist with regard to application. Since European guidelines and other international standards increasingly require quantitative risk assessments, the Working Party regards this as one of its key areas of activity.
