Advanced Fluids

Subject Division

The aim of this Subject Division is to make the right choice of reaction or separation medium for numerous chemical and biotechnological processes and thus to ensure the sustainable design of processes and products. The different solvent concepts are subsumed under the term 'Advanced Fluids'.

The topics dealt with are strongly oriented towards interdisciplinary work. Joint events stimulate discussion of the application of advanced fluids in the individual fields. Promising application areas span the fields of reaction/catalysis (incl. biocatalysis), separation, electrochemistry, performance additives, engineering fluids, analysis/sensors and purification processes. The biennial international conference 'Green Solvents' is an important information platform.
