Fluid Dynamics and Separation

Section

The field of activity of the 'Fluid Dynamics and Separation' Section covers the sequences and processes that occur in fluid phases and are driven by mass and heat transfer. The topics include the fundamentals of thermal-fluid dynamics, process and apparatus design as well as pertinent modeling techniques; they target both classical unit operations and hybrid processes.

The Section addresses the following tasks: promotion of the exchange of ideas and experience beyond the confines of its various committees, particularly in defining R&D approaches that overlap the committees; identification of 'blank spots' in the research scene, and contribution of the Section's expertise to neighbouring application fields. The Section also supports cooperation with international scientific organizations.
On the following pages, brief profiles and the primary areas of interest of the Section's various bodies are presented.
