The Annual Meeting on Reaction Engineering is a well established conference with yearly 220-240 participants. It offers scientists from industry, research institutions and universities the opportunity to discuss their work, learn about latest developments and expand their network.
One focus of the upcoming meeting will be on research for the future circular economy. Establishing sustainable conversion processes for the chemical, food and pharma industry is one of the pressing needs of our time. Reaction engineering can contribute to preventing the exhaustion of critical resources and avoiding unnecessary waste generation. However, truly sustainable processes can only be achieved by closing the loop in production cycles and utilizing waste streams to create new products. Solving these challenges requires the implementation of innovative and efficient technologies by utilizing the reaction engineering toolbox.
The conference particularly aims to motivate young academics and young professionals from industry to contribute to this event. The programme will favour their engagement and give space for new and innovative topics.
Please note: Committee and organisers decided to hold the upcoming Annual Meeting as online event.
We hope this will be a decision in the name of all active and passive participants.

Paper submission for lectures is closed but you can still submit poster contributions until 9th April 2021.
We would like to invite national and international research groups to contribute to the scientific programme, therefore all presentations will be held in English. Even though contributions to the focus theme and input from young scientists are particularly solicited, other contributions to the broad field of reaction engineering are also highly welcome.
Paper submission for oral presentations is closed. The lecture progrramme will be available end of February.
Submission of poster presentations will be possible until 26 March 2021.
Poster Submission will be open again
Please submit proposed contributions in form of a one or two page abstract (max. 1 MB) through the button below. The congress language is English.
The selection of the contributions will be based on the review of the abstracts by the scientific committee.
Please note: Registration fee cannot be waived for authors.

Dear lecture and poster authors, please note: Registration fee can not be waived for authors. Please register until 15 March 2021.
If you are unable to present your lecture/poster for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible via Email.
The official language of the conference is English. Simultaneous translation will be not available.
A brief CV questionary enables the appropriate chair person to introduce all lecturers to the audience. Therefore lecturers are asked to download the CV form and to return it to the conference office by 15 April 2021 at the latest.
Please prepare your slides in 16:9 format.
Please note that talks should not exceed 15 min presentation time. After each session we have scheduled a 20-minute Q&A session, during which participants have the opportunity to discuss with the speakers. Please schedule this accordingly.
We recommend using Google Chrome as your browser.
As a meeting platform we will use Converia Virtual Venue and Zoom. We recommend to download the Zoom app to give your presentation. We plan rehearsals in the week before the conference.
We recommend using 2 monitors if possible - one for playback of the presentation and one for Converia Virtual Venue and Zoom.
As a major guideline it is proposed to make the poster intelligible in itself, even in the absence of the author. It is suggested to divide the contents of each poster into introduction, results and conclusions, with a summary listing the pertinent results and conclusions.
Standard size for posters is 0.85 x 1.2 m (DIN A0-German Standard) in landscape format (Querformat!). Therefore, please find the following specifications:
The posters will be shown throughout the whole conference.
The upload for ePosters will be possible until 23 April. Further information will follow
There will be Poster Discussions on Tuesday, 11 May from 14:00-15:30. We will use the browser-based software Wonder.me to create interactive poster discussions. Please make sure to be available online during this time. More information will follow.
The virtual exhibition, integrated in the online conference, offers perfect opportunities to promote your technologies, products and services in the field of Reaction Engineering.
In the past years, the conference had about 220-240 participants from academia and industry. In 2021 we expect at least the same number of participants. So, there is a great opportunity to strengthen your network as you build up existing and generate new relationships.
If you need further information, please contact the conference office.
