Kinetics and Reaction Mechanisms

Working Party

The Working Party offers a forum for the discussion of mechanistic problems in organic chemistry. A basic understanding of reaction mechanisms is a prerequisite for the technical implementation of chemical processes and their tailored control. At the annual sessions, scientists from universities and industry discuss themes from varying key areas and other topical issues within the general scope of the Working Party. The main objective is to provide a platform for discussions between representatives from academia and industry and to pinpoint important issues. Central topics are: reaction intermediates, methods to define mechanisms, theoretical concepts and molecular modelling, catalytic processes and also homogeneous catalysis, organocatalysis, biocatalysis and new processes.
